HOW DOES IT WORK ?
and how do you savour it?

The Virée is a tasting tour spread across 7 destinations, with bites to discover at every stop. The idea? Sample a variety of products from multiple exhibitors. Portions are designed to be small enough to leave room for variety — so you don’t fill up all at once. The result: you get to taste more, and every producer gets a chance to shine.

What’s a “destination” at the Virée?
It’s a local producer or entrepreneur welcoming you directly to their farm, orchard, or production site. For one weekend only, they open their doors to host other exhibitors, set up tasting areas, and invite you to discover their world, their work, and their products — right where it all happens. Each destination becomes a stop on the gourmet trail, but also a vibrant space, brought to life by the people behind our local agriculture and food culture.

THE COUPONS

Tasting Coupons Food Festival

Why a coupon system?
Every bite you taste is paid for using coupons. It’s simple, practical — and most importantly, fair. Part of the amount goes directly to the local producers, while the rest helps cover event costs (transportation, security, infrastructure, etc.). In short, every coupon supports both the people feeding you and the team making the Virée gourmande happen!

How many coupons should i buy?
Tasting bites range from 1 to 4 coupons each. We recommend starting your day with 24 coupons — just enough to fully enjoy the tour. And if you find yourself still hungry? No worries — you can always grab more along the way!

Refunds
All purchases are non-refundable, including admission and coupons. The event takes place rain or shine, and your contribution directly supports local producers and the organization behind the Virée gourmande.

THE COMPTONALES’ VIRÉE GOURMANDE — HOW DOES IT WORK?

How much time should you plan for?
There are as many ways to experience the Virée as there are visitors! But to give you a general idea, plan for about 45 to 90 minutes per destination, plus travel time between stops (roughly 5 km apart). In short, it’s not a race — take the time you need to taste, chat… and maybe digest a bit between bites.

Getting Around the Virée

SHUTTLES – Simple, quick, and efficient
A fleet of 14 school buses serves all destinations, with a bus stopping at each site roughly every 15 minutes. Two routes run in opposite directions, giving you the freedom to explore the tour at your own pace. And yes — they’re real yellow school buses! It’s a little throwback to childhood… except this time, you’re riding toward tasty bites instead of math class.

Use the designated park-and-ride lots to leave your car and hop on a shuttle — it’s often quicker and definitely more convenient, since parking is limited at some sites.

IS THIS EVENT ECO-FRIENDLY?

Absolutely — sustainability is at the heart of the Virée gourmande. Here's how we make it happen:

  • All tableware is 100% compostable
  • $2 deposit for your glass — refunded when you bring it back
  • No single-use plastic bottles sold on site
  • Free water stations available — bring your refillable bottle!
  • Shuttle buses help cut down on greenhouse gas emissions
  • Compost, recycling, and waste bins at every site, managed with care by our Brigade Verte
  • Signage is reused year after year to reduce waste
  • Printed materials kept to a minimum
  • Local, responsible food producers are at the core of the event

And we’re always working to do better, year after year.
Thanks for helping us keep it green!

ARE DOGS ALLOWED ?

Calm, friendly, and leashed dogs are welcome at the Virée gourmande sites. However, for hygiene reasons (and out of respect for those less fond of pups), they’re not permitted near food kiosks or on the shuttles.

That said, we’ve seen a few overly enthusiastic canine behaviours in the past, so let’s be clear: if your dog jumps on people or tables, doesn’t get along with other dogs, or marks equipment, you may kindly be asked to leave. Thanks for helping make the Virée enjoyable for everyone — on two legs and four!

(Service dogs are, of course, welcome at all times.)

THE HARVEST MARKET

Monday October 13, 2025 (Thanksgiving Monday)
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Flavours, colours, and one last market before winter. We’re celebrating what the land has given us — and it’s no small thing. A few weeks after the final Marché de Soir and just after the Virée gourmande, the Harvest Market marks the grand finale of the season! It’s the last public gathering of the year — a festive market where we celebrate abundance, community, and all the hard work that made these fresh, generous harvests possible.

Full list of producers coming soon!

Main entrance: 25, chemin de Hatley (RTE 208), Compton, J0B 1L0
